AuraList back to the app

Changelog

v1.2.46 (2026-10-29)

  • Announcements now appear as a banner at the top of the app. Close it and it won't come back.
  • If you use a shared AI key, there's now a daily limit on AI requests. You'll see a message if you reach it; it resets at midnight. Your own AI key is never limited.

v1.2.45 (2026-10-29)

  • New Calendar page: see your tasks on a month or week calendar, colored by class. Drag a task to another day to change its due date, hide classes you don't want to see, and find undated tasks in the side panel.

v1.2.44 (2026-10-29)

  • New Progress page: your streak of days with nothing overdue, tasks finished this week, your on-time rate, a chart of the last two weeks, and which class is slipping.

v1.2.43 (2026-10-29)

  • Connect more than one Canvas site, and add several calendar links. The Canvas and calendar imports and the planner use all of them.
  • Canvas tokens and calendar links in Settings now show as dots with a Show button, so you can check what you saved. AI keys stay hidden.

v1.2.42 (2026-10-26)

  • New home page for visitors: what AuraList does, its features, how to get started, and a quick FAQ, with Sign in and Ask for an invite buttons.

v1.2.41 (2026-10-23)

  • Confirmations and name prompts (like deleting a task or creating a list) now appear inside AuraList instead of as browser popups.

v1.2.40 (2026-10-23)

  • Overdue tasks now show an estimate of how long they'll take to finish (like ~45 min), and the Overdue card adds it up. Estimates come from the same AI as the planner, so they only appear if you have an AI key or a shared one.

v1.2.39 (2026-10-23)

  • Editing a task now opens its own page (with its own link) instead of a popup: note and steps on the left, due date, priority, list and sharing on the right.

v1.2.38 (2026-10-23)

  • Fixed: Chrome no longer offers to fill saved passwords on the add-task box.

v1.2.37 (2026-10-22)

  • Fixed: the Undo link in the "Task completed" / "Task deleted" message could not be clicked.

v1.2.36 (2026-10-22)

  • Canvas import no longer offers past-due assignments that can't be submitted on Canvas (like in-class or on-paper work). They're counted in the "Hidden" note instead.

v1.2.35 (2026-10-22)

  • A refreshed guided tour for new accounts, covering the sidebar, the add-task buttons, the toolbar and Settings.
  • Everyone gets a short one-time "what's new" tour of the new look. You can replay either tour any time from Settings → Help & tours.

v1.2.34 (2026-10-22)

  • A fresh look: a new sidebar layout with your lists on the left, a summary of what's overdue and due soon, round checkboxes and colored due-date pills, in both light and dark mode.
  • Pick the style you like in Settings: Sidebar, Top bar, or Classic (the original look).
  • A better add-task bar: type the task, then use small buttons for Date (Today, Tomorrow, Next week, or pick one), Priority, List, Repeat and Note.
  • New dropdown menus everywhere, a toolbar above your tasks for sorting and hiding completed ones, and a redesigned Settings page with a section list and switches.
  • You can turn the overview (the summary cards at the top) off in Settings.
  • Your name in the corner opens a small menu with Help and Log out. Edit and delete show when you hover over a task.

v1.2.33 (2026-10-22)

  • Tasks can now have steps: add a checklist when you edit a task. A 2/5 chip shows your progress; click it to open the steps and tick them off. Steps on weekly tasks reset each week.

v1.2.32 (2026-10-14)

  • A small banner invites you to try kcuts, a go-links tool. One click on the button lets me know you're interested.

v1.2.31 (2026-10-14)

  • New Weekly tab: add tasks that repeat on a weekday you choose, and see all of them in one place. They still show in All tasks.

v1.2.30 (2026-10-14)

  • Weekly repeating tasks: pick "Every Mon…Sun" under Repeats (in the add form's more-options row, or when editing a task). They live in your normal lists and show in All tasks with a ↻ badge. Once done, they come back unchecked on their next day.

v1.2.29 (2026-10-05)

  • Canvas import now keeps due dates in sync: when you open the Canvas tab, any assignment whose due date changed in Canvas updates the matching open task automatically, and you're told how many changed. Completed tasks are left alone.
  • A one-time 'What's new' note introduces the due-date sync the first time you log in after this update.

v1.2.28 (2026-09-23)

  • Fixed: the bulk-select bar (and the search bar) now hide correctly when you click Done or close them.

v1.2.27 (2026-09-23)

  • Bulk actions: click Select on any list to check off several tasks and complete, delete, or move them all at once.
  • Drag to reorder: on a computer, grab the handle on a task in one of your lists to drag it into the order you want.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: press n for a new task, / to search, 1-5 to switch tabs, and ? to see the list.

v1.2.26 (2026-09-23)

  • Added search: click Search in the top bar to find any task by name across all your lists.
  • Deleting or completing a task now shows an Undo button for a few seconds, so a mis-tap is easy to reverse.
  • New accounts now see a friendly getting-started card with quick links to import from Canvas, add a calendar, or create a first list.

v1.2.25 (2026-09-23)

  • New here? A short guided tour now walks you through the tabs, Canvas import, and the planner the first time you log in. You can replay it anytime from Help.
  • Mobile: the top navigation now collapses into a menu button and the tab strip scrolls, so AuraList works properly on a phone.

v1.2.24 (2026-09-22)

  • The planner schedule now shows times in 12-hour format (2:30pm) instead of 24-hour.

v1.2.23 (2026-09-22)

  • Calendar import now reads the course from each event's title (the "[Course Name]" that the Canvas calendar feed adds), so a single all-courses calendar still sorts into one group and list per course. The course tag is removed from the task title so it reads cleanly.

v1.2.22 (2026-09-22)

  • Calendar import now auto-sorts events by calendar, like Canvas import sorts by course. Each calendar becomes its own group with its own destination list, and a matching existing list is pre-selected.

v1.2.21 (2026-09-22)

  • Added calendar import: turn events from a calendar link (a Google Calendar secret iCal address, or any .ics link) into tasks. Useful for classes that don't hand out Canvas tokens. Works like Canvas import, with duplicate detection and a Show/dismiss option.

v1.2.20 (2026-09-21)

  • Admin user lookup now shows when each user was last active ("last used"), tracked lightly on the server.

v1.2.19 (2026-09-20)

  • The admin console is now a multi-page app with its own tabs and URLs: Dashboard, Users, Analytics, and AI sharing, each bookmarkable.

v1.2.18 (2026-09-20)

  • Improved the admin user-lookup with a cleaner, clickable card layout, and hardened the admin console (login rate-limiting; welcome emails no longer sent while a database write is in progress).

v1.2.17 (2026-09-20)

  • Admin tools now also have a dedicated console (admin-only). The in-app Admin tab keeps working.

v1.2.16 (2026-09-20)

  • Added an admin User lookup: search any user to see their account details and activity counts. Private content (task titles, notes, list names, tokens, and keys) is never shown.

v1.2.15 (2026-09-20)

  • Added Daily tasks: recurring habits that live in their own Daily tab, reset every morning, and are included in the AI planner. They are kept separate from your regular tasks and never show up in All tasks.

v1.2.14 (2026-09-14)

  • Added the AuraList logo to the navbar; clicking the logo or the app name now takes you to the All tasks tab.

v1.2.13 (2026-09-14)

  • Minor bug fix.

v1.2.12 (2026-09-14)

  • Added a Help link to the navbar, and the FAQs and other info pages now follow your chosen theme (light, dark, or system).

v1.2.11 (2026-09-14)

  • Added an FAQs page covering accounts, Canvas import, the planner, calendar, and sharing, with step-by-step guides for creating a Canvas access token and an OpenAI or Gemini API key.

v1.2.10 (2026-09-14)

  • Fixed checkbox layout in the settings and admin cards so the box sits right next to its label.

v1.2.9 (2026-09-14)

  • When you add a user, you can now email them a formatted welcome guide with their login link, temporary password, and step-by-step instructions for tasks, Canvas, the planner, calendar, and sharing.

v1.2.8 (2026-09-14)

  • Admins can now set a separate model for people they share their AI key with, independent of their own model (Admin -> 'Model for people you share your key with').

v1.2.7 (2026-09-14)

  • Due dates can now include an optional time (e.g. due Sep 20 at 2:30pm). Add it in the add box or the task editor; it shows on the task and the planner takes it into account.

v1.2.6 (2026-09-14)

  • Hardened the calendar fetcher further: it now connects to the exact validated IP address (blocking DNS-rebinding tricks) and refuses any redirect that leaves https. Email links are pinned to the configured site address only.

v1.2.5 (2026-09-14)

  • Security: the calendar fetcher now refuses links that resolve to internal or private addresses (SSRF protection), checking every redirect; and password-reset and share links in emails now use a fixed site address instead of trusting the request, preventing link poisoning.

v1.2.4 (2026-09-14)

  • The planner chat now acts on 'add it to the plan', 'work it into today', 'schedule it' and similar: it proposes a real change to confirm instead of only describing one.

v1.2.3 (2026-09-14)

  • The planner now respects learning order within a course: numbered sections (1.1, 1.5, Chapter 3) are scheduled in order, so it won't tell you to do a later section before the earlier ones it builds on.

v1.2.2 (2026-09-14)

  • Fixed AI errors on the newest OpenAI models (gpt-5 family): the app no longer sends an unsupported temperature setting, which was causing 'does not accept this model or request'.
  • Added a daily email digest option and password reset by email (both stay off until email is enabled site-wide).

v1.2.1 (2026-09-14)

  • Sharing now works by typing someone's email instead of picking from a user list; current shares show as removable chips.

v1.2.0 (2026-09-14)

  • Sharing: share a whole list with other users (everyone sees and edits the same tasks live: add, edit, check off) or share a single task, which shows up in the recipient's new 'Shared with me' tab.
  • Owners stay in control: only the owner can delete a shared list or task, move it, or change who it is shared with; recipients can leave at any time.
  • Share from the tab menu ('Share this list') or the task editor's new 'Share with' picker. Shared items are marked with the owner's name, and shared tasks show up in your planner too.

v1.1.12 (2026-09-14)

  • The changelog page has a sticky version sidebar that jumps to each release.

v1.1.11 (2026-09-14)

  • Default AI models switched to the cheapest tiers: gpt-5-nano for OpenAI and gemini-2.5-flash-lite for Gemini (a model you typed yourself is unaffected).
  • Users on the admin's shared AI key can no longer change the provider or model; adding their own key unlocks that choice.

v1.1.10 (2026-09-14)

  • Settings is now a grid of cards side by side instead of one long list.

v1.1.9 (2026-09-14)

  • Nightly backups: the whole database (plus the keys needed to read it) is snapshotted every night at 03:30 with 14 days of history, stored where the app itself cannot touch it. Restores are tested.

v1.1.8 (2026-09-14)

  • The planner no longer pads your evening with made-up blocks: calendar events that already ended are filtered out before planning, and the AI is barred from inventing 'other' blocks that are not real calendar events or commitments you named.

v1.1.7 (2026-09-14)

  • The AI no longer does its own date math: overdue status and days-until-due are computed by the server and handed to it, so the chat can no longer call a task due tomorrow overdue.

v1.1.6 (2026-09-14)

  • You can now add tasks straight from the All tasks tab: a list picker next to the add box chooses where the task goes.

v1.1.5 (2026-09-14)

  • New name and look: AuraList, with the scroll logo on the login page and as the site icon.
  • All stored credentials (Canvas tokens, AI keys) are now encrypted at rest; existing ones were migrated automatically.
  • Privacy and Terms pages at /privacy and /terms, including a full encryption rundown.
  • Planner chat: talk to the AI about your tasks and plan; it can edit, add, and reschedule after you confirm.
  • Time estimates now read the real Canvas assignment description (word counts, parts, rubric), not just the title.
  • Tasks view reworked in the myTinyTodo style: tab strip, per-tab menu with sort options and hide-completed, collapsible notes with Show/Hide, arrow-style due labels (yesterday / in 4 days / 30 Sep).
  • Task editor on every row (pencil icon or double-click), including Canvas-imported tasks; priority -1 to +2, notes, and an expandable add box.
  • Per-user theme (light beige / dark / system), custom app name that also renames the browser tab, and per-view URLs (/planner, /canvas, /settings, /admin).
  • Accounts are whitelist-based with one-time default passwords and a forced password change at first login; admins can share their AI key with specific users.
  • Rate limiting on all pages and APIs, plus login lockout after repeated failures.
